Today While the cultivated income increases the rosacean in the farmers and the demand for waiver of the outstanding amount of agriculture loan is intensified It is important to know how rich countries take care of their agriculture sector.
Finally, if the high productivity of crops is the only criteria then why then the rate of agricultural subsidy in the US and the EU is so high.
The world’s richest business organization, OECD (Organization for Economic Corporation and Development) that is an organization of developed countries, provides up to 420 US dollars every year as an agricultural assistance. As per the 2014 Farm Bill, under which the budget provision of agricultural subsidy is made for the next five years, the U.S. has been providing agricultural subsidy of $489 billion i.e. $98 billion per year during the next five years.
The National Crime Records Bureau figures suggest that during the ten-year-old period of 1997 and 2008, the rising debt burden had committed suicide by 2.40 lakh farmers in the country.
It will be interesting to compare it. Especially in a time when the Government refuses to assume the recommendation of the Committee of the Swaminathan Commission to give 50 percent higher profit from the cost value of production. If more prices result in distortion in the market, I think that the government does not find alternative ways to increase agricultural income.
After all, why the farmer has to suffer for food harvesting. Why not the amount of damage to the market in the mass-dhan accounts of the farmers on the US level is deposited. Let us compare before.
The National Crime Records Bureau figures suggest that during the ten-year-old period of 1997 and 2008, the rising debt burden had committed suicide by 2.40 lakh farmers in the country. On the other hand, farmers with direct income assistance in the U.S. between 1995 and 2008 were given an agricultural subsidy of Rs. 12.50 lakh crore. When our farmers were under the burden of loans, the U.S. farmers were getting a thicker sum while sitting at home.
Economic assistance in Europe is also advantageous. There are direct income assistance of Rs.4000 per hectare to farmers. If we multiply Rs.4000 from the sowing area of 2.2 lakh hectares in 27 countries of the European Union, then the amount of 100.40 lakhs is incurred. Dairy farmers are subsidy separately.
Time has come that India’s farmers should also be made sure monthly income at US and Europe levels. Each state must constitute the State Agricultural Income Commission based on crops, productivity, and geopolitical conditions to decide how much their home income per month for each farmer’s family.
It is only the amount that the U.S. and Europe farmers receive as direct income assistance. At the same time, they also get the benefit of counter-cyclic payments, which is the difference between the average market sentiment and the target expression; the payment of loss in the market (Market Loss Payment) i.e. the government does not show readiness to meet the terms of trade agreements, as a result of emergency income assistance to farmers to compensate for the financial losses; And now also subsidies under crop insurance and biofuel program. 50 members of the list of 400 richest Americans of Forbes between 1995 and 2005 at least $6.3 million subsidy crop insurance
An interesting study report published by the U.S. Environmental Group, a few of the key fractions of the ‘Govners Continuous Bell Out for Corporate Agriculture’ I share with you. According to this, the U.S. paid a quarter of the trillion dollar as an agricultural subsidy between 1995 and 2009.
- Direct payment of an average of five billion dollars is being made from 2005. Direct payment has been discontinued from 2014 but more subsidy is being paid in areas like crop insurance.
- Subsidy under the crop insurance program has increased three times – Increased by $2.7 billion in 2005 to $7.3 billion in 2009.
- Crop insurance subsidy has exceeded $35 billion since 1995.
- The 74 percent share of the entire subsidy between 1995 and 2009 went into the pocket of the most rich 10 percent agriculture families.
- A total of $4,45,127 was paid to the richest 10 class during the last 15 years. In this period, small farmers received $8,862 per recipient.
Under the Trump’s administration, it has been decided to cut $38 billion subsidy over the next 10 years. This is the right way to slow down.
