Know your name in the beneficiaries of Ayushman India and whether you can avail it.

World’s largest health insurance plan Ayushman India was launched on Sunday from the capital Ranchi of Jharkhand. According to the government, the scheme will benefit more than 50 crore people from over 10 crore families. Aadhar card is not mandatory to avail this scheme. Aadhar Card can be used as an option, the Government has not made it mandatory.


The guidelines of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana have clearly written that any identity card will be valid during the application. If one does not have a Aadhaar card, the State Government may avail the scheme through any ID card.

On which basis will benefit

All those marked as poor in the socio-economic and caste census of 2011 have been considered eligible. Meaning that if a shell is poor after 2011, it will be deprived of the cover. There is no caption regarding age, family size for insurance cover. Beneficiaries will be able to treat cashless up to Rs 5 lakh every year in government or private hospital.

These papers can avail the benefits of the scheme
Aadhar card is not mandatory to avail this scheme. Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card or Ration Card etc. can be shown for identification. NHA has deployed 14,000 Arogya friends in hospitals. They have the job of verifying and treating patients. For inquiries and solutions, patients can also contact these people.
