Northeast tightens its hold on rubber as tyre majors scout beyond Kerala

Northeast India’s rubber production is significantly up. Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya now contribute 17.5% of India’s total natural rubber output. This is a rise from 7.8% a decade ago. Tripura’s production more than doubled. Assam and Meghalaya also saw substantial increases. Tyre companies are increasingly sourcing from the Northeast. Government initiatives and industry support are driving this growth.
