Shri Singh said that as per the terrif fixed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission, if the farmer is a permanent agricultural consumer of 5 Horse Power, then his annual power bill of Rs 46 thousand 55. It gives Rs 7 thousand farmers. This rate was 88 per unit. Balance gives Rs. 39 thousand 55.
Minister of Energy Shri Singh said that the government has been decided that now only Rs. 3500 of Rs. 46 thousand will be farmers. This rate will now be 44 money per unit. The remaining 42 thousand 555 will give the government. The total subsidy for farmers who were earlier given 9 thousand 700 crore will now be given Rs 10 thousand 400 crore.
Similarly, farmers up to 10 Horse Power will have to pay Rs 700 per Horse Power at Rs 1400 per annum. It will divide around 19 lakh farmers. 1.92 per unit will be taken from temporary agricultural consumers in place of 3.84 units. The rate of energy charge of the metered sustainable agriculture combination will be half.
Complete discounts to farmers of Aja-Ajaja
The Minister of Energy informed that the SC and ST will get a complete waiver of electricity bills as beforehand to 5 Horse Power with a land of up to one hectare. This will benefit around 8 lakh consumers.
About 29 lakh farmers will benefit
16 lakh permanent consumers up to 5 Horse Power in the scheme, about 3 lakh permanent and 2 lakh temporary farm consumers benefit from 5 to 10 Horse Power. Along with this, 8 lakh farmers of SC and ST will continue to facilitate free electricity.
