Launch of Pancham River Festival in Bandrabhaan
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan launched the Pancham River Festival in Bandrabhaan, the confluence of Narmada and Tawa River in Hashangabad district today. Shri Gadkari said on the occasion that the problem of water will not be eliminated in the country as long as we do not protect the water. We have to work with understanding the importance of water conservation. Shri Gadkari said that 70 percent of the earth goes waterless. 30 projects have been created in the country for its planning. Shri Gadkari reported that the Central Government will take over Rs. five lakh crores in the Ganga project. He pointed out that efforts are being made by the Central Government to promote river tourism. For this, buses and airplanes are purchased.
Union Minister Shri Gadkari reported that a revenue of Rs 18 crore was earned by purifying the water of the toilet 5 years ago. The aim of selling water worth Rs.78 crore this year. The river Ganga has been launched by removing methane gas from river water. He advised to use 8 percent plastic with asphalt in road construction in Gram and District Panchayat. He told that sea water is also being sold as drinking water by purifying. Shri Gadkari said that the Government of India will execute on contemplation and suggestion received from the River Festival. The Union Minister said that the special functions of the State Government in Madhya Pradesh are appreciated for river and environmental protection.
Chief Minister Shri Chauhan said that the last year Narmada service journey was taken for river conservation. This journey lasted for five months 5 days has led to a revival of river, water and environmental protection in people. Shri Chauhan reported that on two July 2017, 6 crore 63 lakh plants were planted in the state, 80 percent of which plants survive. He said that on 15th July 2018, 7 crore plants will be planted and labored on 313 rivers in the state will be revived.
The Chief Minister said that the resurrection of the ponds will also be done. The work of planting sewerage treatment plant in Narmada shore 20 districts has begun. In the villages of the shore of Narmada, the work of making the rosary, pujankund and the area nasha free. He added that the irrigation resources increase have resulted in a rich production of wheat, chana, fly, onion, garlic, etc. in the state. Working on making processing centers for their consumption. Shri Chauhan said that the organic farming campaign is being started from the Narmada coast. Further strategy will be prepared on the basis of contemplation during the Festival.
Union Minister Shri Gadkari and Chief Minister Shri Chauhan released the book Narmada Parikrama Route written by former Union Minister Self Shri Anil Madhav on the occasion. On this occasion, the message given by Satguru Jaggi Vasudeev on the River Festival was also broadcasted.
The programme was also addressed by Shri Suresh Soni and Swami Parmanand. Shri Rao Udai Pratap Singh, Vice President of BJP Vizsh Lunawat, Vice President of the Public Campaign Council Shri Ragavendra Gautam and Shri Pradeep Pandey, MLA and Former Minister Shri Sartaj Singh were also present.
