New Delhi. Union Minister Suresh Prabhu today reviewed proposed agriculture exports and new industrial policies and discussed with top officials on the strategy of increasing exports. Commerce and Industry Minister said the government is working on new initiatives to take the country’s exports to a new level.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said last week that new agriculture export policy will be brought up to increase farmers’ income. He also said that the government is on the way to achieve the goal of double the income of farmers by 2022. Discussed various export promotion strategy and reviewed the earliest agricultural export policy and industrial policy.
Commerce and Industry Minister had drafted the Agriculture Export Policy in March. The aim of this policy is to double the export of farmers and integrate Indian farmers and agricultural products with a global value chain. New Industrial Policy will replace the old policy of 1991. It is designed between the payment balance problem.
The proposal is to promote emerging areas of industrial policy and modernize existing industries. It will also be considered to remove regulatory barriers on the way of state-of-the-art technology such as robotics and artificial meditate and encourage its use.
