Crop Loan of 94 thousand crores for farmers in this fiscal year
Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that it is necessary to make new schemes by taking into account the agriculture landscape while changing the interest of farmers. He urged the National Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) to form the State’s Agriculture Policy in view of the agricultural landscape converted in Madhya Pradesh. Also seek cooperation with farmers, agricultural experts and agricultural business entities.
The Chief Minister was addressing the State Debt Symposium of National Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) in the Ministry today. Chief Minister released NABARD’s State Focus Paper. He honored self-help groups and farmer product committees with NABARD for good performance.
Shri Kamal Nath said that at the time of formation of NABARD, the challenges of the agriculture sector were to overcome the lack of food grains. Today there are challenges to create access to food grains and storage from excessive production. Farmers are challenged to give the right value of their product. Chief Minister appreciated committed efforts to enhance credit facilities for farmers in agriculture sector and strengthen agriculture infrastructure.
Crop Loan Waiver Permanent Solution No
The Chief Minister said that crop loan waiver is not a permanent solution to the farmers’ problem. This is the instantaneous measure of getting them from distress as the psychological pressure of the debt occurs. Now it’s time to adopt diversified farming for more benefits. First NABARD encouraged the soybean processing and oil industry, then insisted on maize production. In this way, the priorities of the agriculture sector are changing.
Shri Kamal Nath said the time of marching of agricultural products has now come in a limited geographical area. A food park can be installed in four-five districts, products made in which they sell by becoming a brand of the same districts. In the market economy, it is difficult to say that the farmers will benefit from it. He said to take initiatives to build a farm policy in view of the new dimensions of agriculture.
Horticulture & Food Processing Emerging Area
The Chief Minister said gardens and food processing are the fastest emerging areas. A large area of production of flowers is emerging even in gardeniki. He also studied areas where new food parks are becoming more likely to emerge, creating strategies in advance. He said that when the purchase capacity of the farmers will increase, the meaning of the sectors associated with agriculture will also be improved.
Loan distribution of 1,74,970 crore
NABARD has estimated loan distribution of Rs 1,74,970 crore in priority areas for the State of Madhya Pradesh for the financial year 2019-20, which is 14.28% higher than previous year’s estimates. The projections of crop loan have been increased from the present 50 thousand crore to 94 thousand crore as compared to previous year estimates due to "Jai Kisan Loan Wafi Scheme" which is 86.36 percent higher. The State Focus Paper "Soul Agriculture Method" has been prepared keeping in view the potential loan distribution in the 313 blocks of the state.
