It was disclosed when the question asked by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on behalf of MP Ravi Prakash Verma in the Rajya Sabha. This happened while the facility of toll free number is available on behalf of the Government for season information. Also, the information of the farmers is provided by the Government Channel DD farmer. Yet the Bank has deducted large funds in the name of this facility from the accounts of KCC holder farmers. The Central Government has released the Toll Free Number 1800-180-1551 for farmers to take weather information.
State Bank of India (SBI) had signed Nationally on March 2016 from Reuters Marketplace Light Innovation Services Private Limited (RML) to provide crop and weather related information to farmers. Under which farmers had to provide weather information through SMS and mobile app. For this services, Rs.450 and Rs.999 as charges from farmers.
State Bank of India availed this facility by 1.62 lakh farmers out of 60.24 lakh KCC holder farmers in the name of this service. SBI deducted Rs 68.04 lakh for written consent without the accounts of 7,636 farmers from these farmers taking facility. Yani Bank continuously cuts Rs.999 from farmers’ accounts for no consent. However, the entire money in the accounts of these farmers is said to be returned on behalf of SBI. It is completely wrong to cut money from the account of farmers without such a way. It is credited with a large Rashi farmers account.
