Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways, Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilizers, said in the written reply of a question in the Rajya Sabha today that there is no shortage of medicines required as per the information received from All India Organization of Chemists and Drugists (AIOCD) and its supply remains without any difficulty or obstruction.
Shri Mandavia told the House that if there is a lack of medication, facilities have been given by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) to inform people. Helpline number 1800111255 can be reported through pharma mass solution, WhatsApp mobile number (9695736333) and Twitter handle (https://twitter.com/nppa india).
The Minister said that the NPPA had received some complaints of missing some medicines through WhatsApp in the first week of July. But GST was not applicable due to the unavailability of these drugs. While all these cases were asked to contact the complainants from the concerned companies and ensure the supply of drugs so far.
Shri Mandavia reported that NPPA has recently revised the price range of Scheduled Drugs due to GST and reduced the price range to the level of product values.
