India and Russia have completed 70 years of friendship story. On 13th April 1947 Russia (Emergency Soviet Union) and India had officially decided to establish the mission in Delhi and Moscow. This tailor of friendship started between the two countries today continues 70 years later. Even though the closest between the US and India are currently increased, the reality is that the true friend of India is Russia. In the past 70 years, the international landscape changed, many countries suffered in the fire of the civil war, and the relationship between many countries declined, but India-Russia relations did not see any circumstance to date. Russia always stood in every difficult of India.
Russia is playing India’s friendship on the international platform regardless of the world. Russia in the UN Security Council used its 100th Vito on 22 June 1962 in support of India on Kashmir issue. Actually, Ireland in the Security Council had introduced a proposal against India from Kashmir fortress, which was supported by Ireland, Chile and Venezuela in addition to the US, France, UK, China (Permanent Member of the Security Council). The proposal was behind India’s large plot of Western countries. The motive was to give Kashmir from India to Pakistan, but Russia played India’s friendship at that time and failed the plot.
Russia openly supported India in the Security Council and vetted against the Irish proposal. Russia’s help did not pass the proposal against India. Earlier in 1961, Russia had also used 99th Vito for India. This time Russia’s VTO was in favor of India on the Goa Masche. Also, Russia has been using its VTO against Pakistan and in favor of India. Russia has often given India’s work in development from nuclear and space programs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India-Russia friendship in an article written in Russian newspaper Russia, Russia. There are not only diplomatic, but economic, social and cultural relations between India and Russia. In difficult situations, Russia-India passed the test of friendship.
