From medium black land to heavy black land is considered suitable for good production. To take the right advantage of the production capacity of Kusum, it must be sown in deep black ground. The roots of this crop go deep into the ground.

Selection of Castes:

There are many suitable castes to sow in Madhya Pradesh, which have been extracted from the Kusum Research Centre, Agriculture College, Indore, Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University. All the castes are ripening in about 135 to 140 days. Select the situation-friendly from these castes.

  1. NARI-6 ripening period 117-137 10 per hectare rotless variety of oil is high.

  2. JSF-1: This caste is white-colored flowers. Its plants are harvested. It has a large and white color. This caste contains 30 percent oil.

  3. JSI-7: The characteristic of this caste is that it is noble. Its blooming flowers are yellow, and when it starts to dry, the color of the flower becomes orange red. It has a small white color. Donations have a volume of 32 percent of oil.

  4. JSI-73: This caste is also untreated. Also bloomed flowers remain yellow and the color of the flowers is red when dried. It has a slightly larger white color than JSI-7 caste. The amount of oil in its granules is 31 per cent.

Crop Cycle:

This crop can be easily grown by accumulating moisture in accidental intoxication or in empty farms after deterioration of crops due to the drought area or baranine farming.

Kusum can be grown as 2nd crop after kharif Dalhani crops such as soybeans, mong, Ord or 2nd crop in Rabi. If the maize or tide crop is harvested in Kharif, the Kusum crop can be grown successfully in the Rabi season.

Seedlings:

Before sowing the seeds of the Kusum crop, it is necessary to plant the seeds of the pulmonary, so that there is no fungal diseases. For the treatment of seeds, 3 grams of thyrum or brasikal fungal inflammatory drug per kilogram of healthy seeds is sufficient.

Time of sowing:

The appropriate time to sow the Kusum harvest is from the last of September month to the first week of October if the Moon or the Ord is sown in the Kharif season. If soybean is sown as a Kharif crop, the appropriate time of sowing Kusum harvest is until the end of October month. If the Barani is cultivated and no crop has been planted in Kharif, the Kusum crop can successfully be sown for the first week of October month from the end of September.

Method of sowing:

8 kg of kusum seeds should be sown with milk or bitterness as per acre. It is necessary to keep the queue distance 45 cm or one and a half foot from queue when sowing. Plant distance should be 20 cm or 9 inches.

Manure and fertilizer quantity and method:

In the undenatured state, the spur should be given at a rate of 16 kg and 8 kg of potash per acre. 24:16:8 kilograms of origin, spur and potash per acre is sufficient in the condition of the irrigation.

It is beneficial to mix 8-10 car gober’s cooked manure per acre land once every third year. The amount of odor caused by sesame harvest will be appropriate to acre 8-10 kg per acre.

Give the entire amount of fertilizer to the land at the time of sowing in the undenatured state. In the irrigation condition, give half the volume of the trajector, the entire amount of spur and potash at the time of sowing and give half the amount of the remaining trajector at the time of first irrigation.

Irrigation:

This is a dry-tolerant crop. So, if the seed of the crop is grown once, it does not require irrigation until harvest. But where irrigation is available, the maximum two irrigation can be done. It is advisable to do the first irrigation at 50 to 55 days (long-term) and second irrigation at 80 to 85 days (drying)

NEDAI:

Once in the Kusum harvest, run the Dora and make it aside as required. By making the netting, the crust of the surface of the ground will be broken. If there are cracks, he will fill and save the heat of moisture. After 15-20 days of germination of the Nidai-Guarden germination, the plant will also be displaced when it is handed over. Keep a healthy place.

Plant Protection:

A. Pest: The most menstrual problem is in the Kusum crop. It looks on the first edge plants. It damages the leaves and soft stems. Do not harm plants by maho, so spray methyl dematan by 0.05 per cent of 25 Ec or 0.04 per cent of dimethiot 30 Ec or by making a solution of trichophas 40 Ec. Spray again after 15 days when required.

Kusum’s fruit pierced ELLY: The outbreak is seen when the flowers begin to grow in the plants. Its buds destroy the major parts of the flower by living inside the buds. Spray indosulfan 35 percent of EC or 0.04 percent of chlorpyrifus 20 EC or 0.01 percent of deltamethrin for its prevention.

B. Diseases:

There is no special problem of diseases in the Kusum harvest. Diseases or diseases are always caused by more humidity after precipitation due to the spreading dirt in the field, repeatedly harvesting of Kusum in one place. Hence, adopting the appropriate harvest cycle, sowing seeds and keeping cleanliness in the farm, it will not cause illnesses.


Root-root disease: When the plants of the Kusum harvest are small, the rote disease is observed. The roots of plants lead to white color fungus on the roots. Plants dry due to rotting roots of plants. Seed treatment is necessary for the prevention of this disease. The seed should be sowed only.


Obesity: The disease accumulates the substance of white powder on leaves and stems. Spray the soluble odor 3 g per litre of water and then stir the odor powder according to 7-8 kg per acre.


Gerua: The drug called Diethane M45 when the disease is outbreaking can be prevented by spraying on the crop by mixing three grams in one liter of water.

Crop harvesting:

A little difficulty in harvesting the crop is caused by a thorn in caste. The thorns are harvested on the leaves. How many are thornless. Wearing a rash in the left hand or wrapping a cloth in the hand can easily harvest the crop by trapped the plants in either two branched wood. There are no problems in harvesting casteless. Yield:

JSF – 1 caste yields 680 kg per acre
JSF – 7 caste yields 520 kg per acre
JSF – 73 cast yields 580 kg per acre.
