Provision of 5.50 crore in the year 2018-19 for scholarship
The State Government has decided to provide scholarships to 50 students of the backward class every year for study abroad. So far, only 10 students from the backward class were given scholarships every year to study abroad for higher education. The necessary amendments have been made in Rule-2007 of Higher Education Scheme for the implementation of this decision. The students will also be allowed to study in institutions up to Q,S Rank 500 in the future as per this amendment.
Secretary Backward Class Shri Ramesh Thete informed that the budget has provisioned Rs 5 crore 50 lakhs to provide foreign study scholarship to the students of the backward class in 2018-19. He informed that foreign study scholarships are provided to the students of the backward class for study of higher education subjective post graduate, PhD and research title abroad.
