Bhopal: As well as pensions to acid victims in the state, they will now be given Rs 5 thousand per month of economic assistance. Shri Prem Singh Patel, Minister of Social Justice and Disabled Persons, agreed to the first file of the proposed by the Department of Disabled Affairs immediately after taking charge in the Ministry. He said the pension to be paid on time by the department.
The Commissioner, Shri Sandeep Razak informed that the list of disabilities in the Persons’ Rights Act-2016 has been increased from 7 to 21 types. Acid intake sufferers are also kept in the category of divinity. As per the provision in the Act, the Bench Mark Diversity has been placed 40 per cent. It is noteworthy that the number of acid Atake victims in the state is 17 according to the touch portal.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Social Justice Shri Emblem Hazella, Commissioner Social Justice Smt. Renu Tiwari and other departmental officers were present.
