New Delhi The Central Narendra Modi government has decided to rejoice Rs.200 per quintal in the support value of the paddy. The cabinet approved it on Wednesday. Also all 14 crops of Kharif have increased support value. The first farmers found Rs 1550 of a quintal paddy but for this, they will be given Rs 1750. This decision is being viewed as a publicly challenged decision in the 2019 elections. So large growth has been made in Kharif harvest after 10 years. Earlier, the UPA government had increased Rs 155 in 2008-09. The Government had taken the budget to give farmers at least 1.5 times their yield cost. This step is in line with the same declaration.
Increased in minimum support value of rest crops
In addition to an increase of Rs.200 in the minimum support value of the paddy, the MSP of the second Kharif crops has also been increased. Cotton (medium sized filament) was increased from MSP4,020 per quintal of Rs.5,150 per quintal and cotton (long filament) to MSP4,320 per quintal by Rs.5,450 per quintal. Arhar’s MSP 5,450 rupees per quintal and Rs 5,675 per quintal, Mung’s MSP 5,575 rupees per quintal and Rs 6,975 per quintal and Ord’s MSP 5,400 per quintal has been increased to Rs 5,600 per quintal.
Increasing the MSP of paddy will lead to Rs 11 thousand crore on food exemption, according to the data of the purchase of the marketing year 2016-17. Paddy is the main harvest of Kharif Season. Some analysts say that increasing MSP can accelerate food inflation. This year is also expected to remain good.
