Every year, the rate of diseases related to dengue is increasing. Around five crore people are infected with this disease every year in the world.
About Dengue is widely informed in India. While it is more prevalent in urban populations, this disease has spread to small cities and villages as well. This disease spreads rapidly in the rainy season. This viral disease is caused by four types of viruses called dengue-1, dengue-2, dengue-3, dengue-4.
Disperse of the disease
This disease spreads from the bite of the ‘Adise Izipthi’ salt infected female mosquito. Such infected mosquitoes can spread this disease to many people before they die. The dengue virus grows in the body of the mosquito for about 8 to 10 days. These adices are produced in evaporate mosquito water that accumulate in jars, tanks, coolers, household wastes, coconut shells and tires, etc. These mosquitoes cut in the daytime. Dengue mosquitoes are easy to recognize. They have black and white rings on their legs (see photo). Therefore, they are also called ‘Tiger Mosquito’.
Symptoms of the disease
1) Acute fever, headache, joint pain, vomiting, acute eye pain, weakness, loss of appetite, become rashes on the body from the second day.
2) Signs that are found in infected children or elderly persons under the age of 15 are: Blood flowing from the nose, vomiting of blood, abdominal pain.
3) Dengue Shock Syndrome – If the patient becomes unconscious, it is called Dengue Shock Syndrome. This patient can die.
Diagnosis
Blood Sample Test – Microbial Science, Government Medical College and Hospital, is diagnosed with blood test in the Department of Aurangabad (Ghati).
Treatment – Treatment for dengue is not available. It is necessary to take medications and rest as per the doctor's advice. In such cases, more sweating, frequent vomiting, sore dryness are common symptoms of dengue. The patients are watered with salt and sugar.
Caution Patients with dengue should not be given aspirin or brufin. Take medicines under the supervision of a doctor. Patients with hemorrhagic dengue fever and dengue shock syndrome should be immediately admitted.
Preventive measures
1) Survey – Blood samples are collected and treated with medicines of patients.
2) Control of mosquito larvae – Control of mosquito larvae is the most important activity. Diseases such as malaria, dengue and chikungunia are caused by fishes that lay eggs on fresh water.
3) Mosquito reproductive site – rainwater-filled pits, water tanks, household waste, coconut shells, tires, etc. on the roads.
4) To eliminate mosquito reproductive sites, keep water storage containers dry for a few days.
5) The pits have to be closed to prevent water in drains-pits. If it is not possible, add kerosene or waste oil to those places.
6) Use mosquito net at home to prevent mosquito bites. Gujia fish is poured into stored water tanks as they eat mosquito larvae. Gujia fish are available for free at all government health centers.
8) Fumigation is performed twice during the monsoon for better mosquito control. The effect of fumigation lasts for two months. The house should not be painted for three months from the day of the fumigation (in the monastery, mainly with cow's gober).
