Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will issue the eighth installment of the financial benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme through video conferencing at 11 am on May 14. This will help more than 9.5 crore beneficiary farmer families to transfer more than Rs 19,000 crore. The Prime Minister will also interact with the beneficiaries during this period. Union Minister of Agriculture will also be present on this occasion.
Information about PM-Kisan Scheme
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, the eligible beneficiary farmers are provided a financial benefit of Rs. 6,000 per annum, which is given in three similar installments of Rs. 2,000 over a period of four-four months. Money is directly inserted into bank accounts of beneficiaries. Under this scheme, more than Rs 1.15 lakh crore has been transferred to the farmers families so far.
